The Story Behind ManLion Art Gallery
ManLion Art Gallery is more than just an online platform; it is the culmination of a lifelong journey. Our founder, Narsimha Almelkar, grew up in India surrounded by the artistry of local wall painters and signboard artists. Inspired by these early experiences, he began to pursue art passionately from a young age. Despite humble beginnings, Narsimha’s talent was quickly recognized by his high school drawing teacher, Mr. Chandrashekhar Mudbulkar, who encouraged him to pursue professional training.
With the unwavering support of his family, Narsimha graduated with a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and gained mastery through years of dedicated practice. Over his 25-year career, Narsimha has worked across every major genre and medium, from charcoal sketches and watercolor landscapes to conceptual, semi-realistic, and digital art. Now, through ManLion Art Gallery, he brings together his own artwork and the work of artist friends to share their creations with a global audience.
Meet Narsimha Almelkar
Narsimha Almelkar is not only a skilled artist but also an experienced educator, holding an MFA with a specialization in painting. His career spans various creative industries, including a four-year tenure in the animation sector, where he worked as a senior texturing artist on numerous projects for both national and international studios. Since 2008, he has been a full-time freelance artist and art teacher, exhibiting his work in prestigious galleries throughout India and online, as well as teaching aspiring artists.
Beyond traditional media, Narsimha has adapted his art to digital platforms, creating works in digital painting using advanced graphic software. His extensive knowledge and unique skill set make him a mentor for art learners looking to deepen their craft.

Narsimha’s own journey into art history has inspired him to incorporate both classical and contemporary techniques into our collection. His dissertation on the “Ragamala” paintings—a collection of Moghal-period miniatures housed at the Aundh Museum in India—reflects his dedication to traditional Indian art forms, further enriching our gallery’s offerings.
